A new viral video has emerged to gather publicity for an innovative new product from Samsung, the Central Station.
Central Station acts as a hub for all your peripherals, so you can plug all your devices – audio, hard drives, LAN cable etc. And you can then connect wirelessly or via one USB cable to your laptop, depending on the model. This means you don’t have to mess around connecting loads of cables every time you want to move away from your desk, and it means your desk is a much neater, more pleasant place to work.
Some fun facts about the video;
- The film took just over 150 hours to animate in two and half weeks.
- There are 1852 still frames + 14 seconds of video at the start.
- 21 USB cables featured in the film, while another 50 acted as ‘stand-ins’ to replace the various wires that died during the animation process.
- All the cables were specially made for the shoot so that they were at least 3m long.
- The longest time Toby, the star of the film had to sit still, for was seven hours. By the time he finished he was left with marks embedded into his skin from the USB cables wrapped around him, and the laptop keyboard keys imprinted onto his left cheek. There was also a rather large puddle of drool on the desk which he kindly cleared up. The positions that he had to hold himself in were extremely uncomfortable which meant he was in a great deal of discomfort for several hours at a time.
We recommend you take a look at the video – we understand it is advertising, but being on the internet odds are you will end up watching it anyway – and of course, it is slightly humourous. Plus, we like the concept and intention of the product, so that is always a plus.
